Valentine’s Day in New Jersey. It’s a day to recognize love for the important people in one’s life. That certainly holds true for romantic love. And that’s worth celebrating! Over the weekend leading up to Valentine’s day, participants in our Weekend Recreation (Passaic and Essex counties) and Adults’ Night Out (Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties) programs were busy creating cards and other Valentine’s Day crafts for their loved ones.
Weekend Recreation
On Saturday, the young men and women in our Weekend Recreation program enjoyed an afternoon at the Arts & Creations Pottery Studio, a popular venue in Woodland Park (Passaic County). Over most months of the year, participants enjoy expressing themselves, making one or two holiday-themed crafts.
Adults’ Night Out
On Sunday, participants of our Adults’ Night Out program enjoyed the warmth of companionship on a chilly, rainy day. They created several cards, using a variety of media. Later on, they took part in social games, dancing, listening to music, and solving jigsaw puzzles.
Holidays Year Round
Holiday-themed activities are very popular among the individuals in our community-based drop-off programs! Over the course of the year, consumers enjoy holiday- and season-themed cooking classes, movie nights, dances, and parties. In addition, several times a year, many of our group homes host similar parties and other social events, to which the residents and staff are invited.
On Valentine’s Day and other special times throughout the year, there is much to be happy for and celebrate!
