Advancing Opportunities’ Assistive Technology Services team is pleased to be hosting a free Implementation Workshop on Supporting Adults with Neurogenic Communication Disorders at our Ewing office on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This introductory session will define the unique role and purpose of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), for adults with neurogenic communication disorders. With a focus on aphasia and ALS, participants will explore practical strategies for assessment and implementation. Tobii Dynavox communication pagesets and features, developed specifically for these unique populations, will be reviewed and demonstrated. Small group activities, video, and discussion will be used to apply new knowledge and skills. Participants will leave with relevant research, clinical guidelines, and implementation resources.
Presenter Holly Schneider is on the Clinical Training and Education Team at Tobii Dynavox.
