Rowan University Offers Transition Conference for Students with Disabilities

From living on campus to deciding between a two-year or four-year school to understanding the differences between high school and college, the challenges facing students with disabilities—and their parents—are many.

On Saturday, March 25, Rowan University’s Academic Success Center & Disability Resources will host a daylong College Prep Transition Conference designed to help families learn about resources available to address those challenges. Representatives from Advancing Opportunities’ Student Success Team will be on hand to share insights as well.

The conference, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Chamberlain Student Center on Rowan’s Glassboro campus, is designed to provide students with knowledge and understanding of the transition process.

Specific workshops will explore living on campus versus commuting; how college is different from high school; deciding between attending a two-year or four-year school; and career readiness and planning. The conference includes workshops just for students, where they can network with current college students and alumni, and other sessions just for parents.
